Some of you may or may not be aware of the fact that I am participating in the Susan G Komen 3 Day Walk for breast cancer this year. It is a 60 mile walk over 3 days! You read that right, 60 miles! Believe it or not, even though we are just walking, it requires some extensive training. Walking and running are two different animals so the running I have done in the past only helps so much and regardless, I have never run 20 miles 3 days in a row anyway. Soooo……training will be key to avoiding muscles fatigue, lower back pain, tendonitis and the worst…..blisters!

Do you have any idea how long it takes to walk 20 miles?!  Obviously that depends on how fast you are walking. Yesterday was my longest training walk so far, 12 miles. It took me 3 hours and 43 minutes. Thank God for my IPod and my favorite podcsat characters or I might have just been bored out of my ever-lovin’ mind! As I was walking and listening to Abel James, and his Fat Burning Man Show that I thought you all might find these folks helpful as well. I listen to these folks as I cook, while on a long work road trip, while running and of course now on these long walks I am doing for training purposes> I got through 3 and half shows yesterday and it kept my mind engaged in a topic I am passionate about, namely Paleo nutrition, lifestyle and fitness. I figured I would write a quick post with a list of my favorites to spread the word, particularly for those of you looking to learn more, hear differing opinions, and get to know the various characters I have grown to love through out my own Paleo journey. Below is a list and links to many of my favorites. You can find them on line and on ITunes of you have an Ipod.  As I find more, I will pass it on.

 In no particular order:

Happy Listening and Learning!

  1. My friend did that walk and lost a toenail! Kudos to you – and keep those feet dry. That was her advice. Man oh man!

I’ve heard stories of blisters and all sorts of ridiculousness. As crazy as it sounds I am looking forward to the experience of bonding with these beautiful women.
